About the Role

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer at Circus, you will play a pivotal role in building and evolving our modern data platform, which powers our AI and data-driven solutions. Working within the central Data & AI team, you will design, implement, and scale our data infrastructure using cutting-edge tools such as AWS and Snowflake.

Reporting to the VP of Intelligence, you will have ownership over the entire data lifecycle and collaborate closely with platform engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to develop the foundation of our AI-powered food solutions.

Your Daily Business

Design & Implement: Build robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines to support our AI/ML applications and data products.
Collaborate: Work closely with the Data & AI team to establish and maintain a scalable data infrastructure.
Data Platform Evolution: Drive the decentralization and modernization of our data platform with state-of-the-art technologies.
Optimize Efficiency: Develop tools, templates, and processes (e.g., CI/CD) to streamline data ingestion and management.
Ensure Quality: Establish a robust data quality and observability framework for data products and AI solutions.
Backend Development: Create backend services to process and transform data from internal and external systems.

Base Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years in data engineering, with hands-on expertise in building data warehouses or lakes from the ground up.
Cloud Expertise: Proven experience in creating secure, scalable data platforms on AWS, with a strong focus on security, networking, and authentication.
Technical Skills: Proficient with Snowflake, data lakes, and SQL/NoSQL databases. Advanced programming skills in Python and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other container technologies.
AI/ML Knowledge: Basic experience working with Data Science or Machine Learning frameworks is a plus.
Mindset: A solutions-driven mindset with a passion for optimizing and scaling data platforms.
