About the Role

As a Culinary Manager at Circus Group, you will play a pivotal role in developing, testing, and refining dishes for our innovative robotic kitchen. This unique position combines culinary creativity with technical expertise, ensuring our future brands deliver exceptional food quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate across departments, including R&D and onsite testing, to pioneer new culinary experiences that align with our cutting-edge technology.

Your Daily Business
  • Create and test balanced, appealing dishes and menus that cater to diverse customer demographics, dietary restrictions, and preferences.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging food preferences, and customer expectations, incorporating sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into our menu offerings.

  • Adapt and optimize recipes to work seamlessly with our robotic kitchen technology, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.

  • Lead food testing activities by arranging ingredients, preparing protocols, maintaining equipment, and conducting sensory evaluations to assess taste, texture, and overall quality.

  • Ensure all food safety standards are met, maintain accurate records of development sessions, and generate detailed reports on testing outcomes and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with various teams, including R&D and operations, to ensure that new menus meet both brand standards and operational requirements.

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of specialized kitchen and food production equipment, ensuring all tools are functioning optimally for testing and production.
Base Qualifications
  • Trained Chef and/or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Food Technologies, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in culinary operations management, ideally within a franchise environment or a leading food service company. Strong background in food and menu development e.g. as a culinary technician with extensive knowledge of global cuisines and cooking techniques.

  • Experience with food production technology, food safety standards, and culinary software applications. Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.

  • Ability to conduct and analyze food tests, understanding the scientific principles behind food preparation and preservation.

  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently under pressure.

  • Fluent in both German and English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an office setting located in Munich.
